Sunday, June 28, 2009 ; shop?
went around orchard today.of course.since the last time i went.i fared poorly.my however little time spent at orchard did not let me recognize key landmarks and where was where.so in the end.i just was a noob at maneuvering orchard road.aha.but of course i should just read up and know my way.okay.season's sale is going to end soon.seeing all the shops hanging discount banners and giving privilege cards.hmm.you know its great.went to G2000 to buy an outfit of shirt and dress pants.haha.in the end my mom somehow connived with some other customer to get the privilege card which was only warranted by a $150 purchase and so we had to combine purchases.i was like O.o by the side.quite amused that people would do this.in the end the bill was $152.15.just enough for the card.hehehee.
ion orchard is opening soon.and by what URBAN has reported.its looking to be a prime shopping area for the rich and famous.with luxury fashionhouses Louis Vuitton and Prada opening their flagship stores sandwiching the entrance to the shopping mall.its going to be eye catching.what's even more amazing is that in the report, all the special items which have been crafted for the grand opening of these stores have already been preordered! (like the $3320 lambskin skirt) wow.seems that some rich singaporeans still find time to spend their money in the recovering economy.well.what's extra money good for if you don't spend it? but personally i just think "as if LV and Prada didn't have enough outlets in the orchard road belt already".for an overtly over-retailed shopping district such as this.its a miracle how retailers still do good business.
being a guy.and having some influence from sherman yong qin wei.i paid attention to the crowd shopping.just having some thoughts and comments about what my friends always keep saying about injustice prevailing in the world.well not in a bad way i guess.those of my single friends always complain that when pretty girls have boyfriends who don't match up.they should find someone better.and in that case.its them.haha.wont every guy feel this way.im sure maybe to a small extent.girls do too.but please don't flame me if im wrong.but even if you have to do so.please use the tagboard as you wish (: and make it funny.
after a brief discussion with sarah.(she really convinced me that girls and guys think differently).because i still was unperturbed at the fact that some girls scream and shout for people like zac efron and japanese boy bands and how much they adore them.but when it comes to a relationship.its a whole new ball game.girls really look deeper for something long term when they look for a potential boyf.on the flip side.guys just like to ogle at pretty ladies.and looks just does it for them in the first place.what would be necessary to deter the guys would be repulsive behaviour and bad habits/moral values.but i think most guys would extend their threshold for such undesirable traits just because the girl is smoking hot.while when you see a not so hunky guy with a model girlf.its just because girls don't go for looks as much as guys do.and they would like things such as loyalty, trustworthiness and honesty.these things last more than looks.beauty is a transient thing aye.remember that all the above are mere assumptions.if you really feel that there is a pressing and paramount comment to be made.please use the pink and black thing on the right of this message. : D
moving on.today was a day of sadness and mourning.for lo and behold.the death of michael jackson has occurred.and the king of pop's legacy will be left tarnished.marred by accusations of child molest.though we dont know for sure if its true.watched ET on the bus today on dear MJ's death.to most of us here.he's just a loony who went for surgery and a paedophiliac.but many do fail to look past those ungodly things he's done and realize what a legend he really is.his concerts are filled with unfathomable cheering.screaming and shouting.i never did know what an impact he has made on the generations before me until i watched clips of his concerts on youtube.a whole song filled with fans screaming.audiences ranging from children to seniors.black and white people.everyone up on their feet dancing to the song Billie Jean.for a full eight minutes.and it never once did stop.compare it with modern day artistes.no one comes close.maybe we were just brainwashed by his wrongdoings in our era.yes.thats regrettable.so what if he looks like a freak? (oh no im probably offending alot of fans here).he's really great.and that's the bottomline.oh yes.i gotta mention farrah fawcett too.bless you ex-charlie angel.great beauty in her time.
okay see you guys again soon.have fun in term 3.and.as usual.more house/trance music for you to enjoy.and please pardon the suggestive lyrics.okay apparently imeem doesn't let me post whole songs.so i just gotta use youtube.

Thursday, June 25, 2009 ; parables : gotta catch them all
haha.okay the weeks leading up to the church camp named "Parables : Gotta Catch Them All" was filled with pretty funny and lame publicity videos.LOL.haha.they really had everyone laughing.then again we had another dose of the videos right after the camp's closing ceremony yesterday.haha.highlights were sarah's wild pharisee "are you here to challenge me again?" laugh which dropped her "bible" headband haha.and junxiang's nurse joy impersonation.church camp started on monday and of course if you couldn't already guess our camp was themed on pokemons.my group was cleffa-->clefairy-->clefable.yeah.everyone's group evolved on each day.okay whatever.on monday i went late cause i was just lazy to get up early.when i reached we played the last of the morning games and went for lunch (: and this year's food is GREAT.superbly passing last year's.haha sorry maybe it was because i was the logistics i/c for last year's camp.
amazing race was very fun this year.because all the locations were easy to get to.and filled with weird tasks and such.like the treasure hunt thing where we needed to find a person who was wearing hush puppies shoes.at the beach! well at least we found one (: barbecue was lovely.a night affair filled with nice drinks.chicken wings to die for.and lots of satay plus sushi plus curry plus rice plus the list goes on.
tried to study during camp nights but it was utterly failed.only managed to do like 3 questions in a 45minute period.which is pretty little.thanks to sherman and rebecca who accompanied me.and yay.played cards and murderer late into the night.what was previously asshole taiti was known as sherman taiti.haha.i think sherman was the joke of the camp all the time.from the bulbasaur cheer to everything else.linked to sherman.
well there's really too much to say about the camp to be able to write it here.especially what happened during water games.haha.all the weird antics the committee were up to.we could all guess already.and the girl camp who kept asking me to do the popping thing from Super Junior's 너라고(it's you) song.the part where "o o only for you" after the second chorus.okay...cheers to the committee for organizing such a great camp.better than last years.and i really had fun.really really.

Monday, June 15, 2009 ; reading material
did some math today it was awesome haha.gonna finish up rev package one soon (: drum class is over.haha and somehow i ended up with a fanclub on facebook.so contrived.i mean.im just a noob at drums.watch all those youtube wonders work their magic.its jaw-dropping.anyway i started reading on robert greene's 48 Laws Of Power.some pretty interesting stuff to get whatever you want.the status and whatever.but somehow im afraid people always have the idea that you might appear with a veneer stuck on your face when you've read something like this.suspicions and caution are commonfare when you know someone else is much better prepared than you to use and exploit another.oh well.i know i could never use a friend for my own benefit.that really goes against my principles.
haha.k session on wednesday! gonna have fun with my section.and finally dinner at parkway parade.

just cleaned up my room.packed all my things into files and etc.soon i'll be needing to bind all my notes and get it all together.and thanks to my mom for vacuuming my room without me helping at all (: ahh.bad thing is i lost my pencilcase and i have to spend money on getting one again.and i can't start on my work! pffft.drum class was great yesterday.taught 3 simple rudiments.singles.doubles.paradiddles.some beats and that was all.haha.didnt wanna tire the students out.im pretty sure some of them had more than enough to handle.especially if you didn't start out as someone already very interested in drums.tomorrow is the next lesson and i hope to make much more progress.soon there'll be tests HAHA.
gonna plan to revise all chemistry today except organic.plus do math exercises.yay.time to set the bar high.and find back the joy i once had in sec 4 doing all those subject papers.im sure we all had fun doing those back then.getting a natural high when you could solve challenging problems and devoting hours thought into just one question.and when you finally got it(for math).thats an awesome feeling.

Sunday, June 7, 2009 ; the constant study
right 2nd week of june is starting and that's where i planned my serious study to start.but hmms.seems that ive wasted alot of time this week doing pretty much nothing but slacking and going out ): AND THERE'S CHEM TEST TOMORROW.sheesh.better start revising and studying and putting myself in a no life mode soon.lest i fail my a levels.

anyway yesterday was great fun.jammed at Lcube with chris again.but this time i played the bass haha.yay.did some supposedly "original" songs and a cover of love story which was quite pathetic.i ended up singing instead.like 3 keys lower than the original.haa.but anyway after the drummer left i jammed around with chris.played 'burn' '2 minutes to midnight' and some improvised rock/metal.ahh.felt so tired after 20 mins of that.imagine the mental workout of thinking up fills and playing them in time.plus some copies of epic fills from mike portnoy's toolbox, some show off rolls on snare with cymbal hits and 'burn' esque rolls around the drums.phew.need to do cardio soon to keep up with the workout.
have a few opinions on the general state of jamming studios in singapore.been to a few already.but it doesn't fail to disappoint me.the mediocre condition of instruments there.the drum skins were battered.its hardware dent and pedals were incongruent(in the case of double pedals).i couldnt even adjust the thing properly.it would just fall back to its convoluted position.generally the strings on the guitars and basses will be rusted like no tomorrow.hmm.and sometimes bad cables run too much ground voltage.well.thats quite a bit to lament about.but really.why isnt there a jamming studio where everything is properly maintained? i dont mind the extra cost if it means better productivity for bands out there.hmm.but maybe it also boils down to the irresponsibility of some ungraceful singaporeans out there who don't know the meaning of keeping things in order for others to play on.they dont know control.and drummers just use the drums as a battering field for their unpolished skills.in that case they don't deserve to be in a band at all.much less jam.
carrying my heavy bass around was okay.but the crazy weather made me sweat so much.grrr.took a walkabout parco and looked at all the people who went there.from all walks of life.girls who put on lots of makeup and dressed as if they were going to clubbing but were just shopping.some who looked entirely japanese camping in the neoprints shop.guys in groups who were practically wearing the same thing together.lovey dovey couples.families eating at restaurants.long snaking queues at certain venues(box office) and just the normal weekend crowd at the bugis area.saw denise the j1 clarinet girl who was her usual bubbly self.and i didn't realise cause i was engrossed in talking to chris that i looked around blankly after someone tapped me on the shoulder.aha great.i can be so detached from my surroundings.
anyway.i hope the upcoming section outing will be tons oodles loads lots of fun (:
